Event Theme Design Projects

I have had the opportunity to create event theme designs for a small company that provides home educating materials for Christian families. I know, very niche.

Although it is very niche, it also has been a great opportunity because through it I have learned how to take an idea from a client and create something that is appropriate for them. In this case, they would give me the theme for their event, and I would come up with imagery and text design for it. I learned so much through this process.

The main software I used to create these theme designs were:

Indesign, Illustrator, and photoshop, but I also used Procreate to make
hand drawn text and illustrations for the TEACH Camp 2019 and 2020 designs.

ESC (European Student Convention)

ESC is a week long student event, where students aged 11-18 participate in events in different categories such as - Art, Music, Drama, Sports, and Academics. Students can win awards and meet other students at this event. ESC is an event designed to inspire students to use and grow their natural abilities and talents.

To make event designs for this event, I made sure to research the current design trends and colour trends of each particular year. I also tried to form designs that would appeal to the 11-18 age group and that would look good on event merchandise e.g. stickers, posters, programme’s, t-shirts.

TEACH Camp

TEACH Camp is a week long family summer camp event, where homeschooling families come together and take part in planned activities such as hiking, treasure hunts, art workshops, children’s groups, parenting seminars, and more.

To make designs for this event, I tried to harness imagery that represented summer camp in the countryside. In 2020 I also designed a logo for the event, which will now be used permanently.
